The Government of Haryana in association with ASSOCHAM organized the 2nd Agri Leadership Summit 2017. The event took place between March 18 to 20 at Suraj Kund, Faridabad, Haryana.

The theme was “Motivation Through Achievers, Peri-Urban Farming, Farm to Consumers Directly, Electronic Farm Trading, Organic Farming, A2 Milk: Healthy Milk”.

This edition of the Agri Leadership program aimed at highlighting Haryana as an attractive investment destination for agri-businesses; showcasing to farmers the latest technology, guiding farmers towards value creation and creating a linkage between these farmers and the market through digital platform.

The Inaugural Ceremony of the 3-day Summit was held on 18th March 2017. Shri Rajnath Singh, Union Minister for Home Affairs was the Chief Guest. The event was also graced by the august presence of the Chief Minister of Haryana Shri Manohar Lal Khattar; Shri Krishan Pal Gurjar, Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment was the guest of Honour on the occasion.

A Coffee Table Booklet on “Agri Leaders” was released by Shri Rajnath besides releasing a book on Crop Cluster Development Programme, and another on “Haryana Clusters in Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Dairy, and Fisheries” Later, the Exhibition was inaugurated and all the dignitaries present took a round of the Expo. 

The exhibition covered an area of 8000 sq meters or 16 acres out of the total venue space of 50 acres and witnessed the participation of more than 400 exhibitors. It included a “Live Cattle Show”, “Tractor Showcase” and “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan” scale models, apart from dairy and Agri products displays.


Day one revolved around the theme - “A2 Milk: Healthy Milk” and included seminars on “Revolutionizing Milk Production”; “Cattle and Organic Farming”; “Advances in Animal Husbandry and Dairying” and “Successful Business Models”. The day was focused on showcasing the latest developments in Dairy farming.

The second day showcased new opportunities in “Peri Urban Farming” and included seminars on Augmenting Innovation in Agriculture, Farming Entrepreneurship, Horticulture, Spreading the Blue Revolution, Management of Water Resources, Managing Soil Health, etc. 

During the closing ceremony of the second day, the best performing farmers of Haryana in terms of agri and dairy products were felicitated for their efforts. 

Day 3 was dedicated to “Risk Management, Climate Smart Agriculture, and Electronic Farm Trading” and included talks on International Collaboration in Agriculture and Allied Sector, Agri Logistics and Food Processing and the investment opportunities therein. 

More than 5000 delegates and 400 companies participated in the seminars while over a lakh farmers visited the exhibition. The event also included more than 500 B2B meetings. Representatives from Spain, Indonesia, and IFAD also visited the Summit over the three days
